My story

Born in Lancaster, California, August 1957. Mother to two wonderful boys, Steven and Jessi. Grandmother to Lennon and August. Married to Art Sanchez.

One dog, Luna and three cats, Mingus, Sassafras, and Shadow.

I am computer literate on both PC and Mac. I am highly experienced in desktop publishing, word processing, editing, and graphic art. I am confident in the use of most writing, publishing, graphic art, database, and bookkeeping software by Microsoft, Apple, and Adobe.

Other skills include; Innkeeping, housekeeping, building maintenance, carpentry, bookkeeping, receptionist, data entry, warehouse stocking, packing and shipping.

I have a high sense of work ethics. I am always at work on time, learn quickly and focus intently. Long term, short term, full time, part time, days or swing. I am an introvert, but will work with the public as the job requires.

  • High School: Poway High, 15500 Espola Road, Poway, CA 92064. Attended 4 years. Studied Fine Arts, Creative Writing, Literature, and English. Graduated in 1974.

Used the OnQ 2002 Property Management program version 06.07.01.10 to check in and out guests. Conducted the night audit collecting all AR and AP stats for the day and produce reports for upper management every night. Had to quit this job when COVID shut down hospitality businesses.

  • 11/26/2019 to 12/30/2019 – Customer Fulfillment Team Member. Target, 1550 E Lincoln Way, Sparks, NV 89434. Phone: (775) 332-1003 #5. Supervisor: Jenny Essman. Worked fulfilling customer orders using the Zebra Barcode Scanner. Packed and shipped orders from the warehouse assembling boxes operating the electronic kraft tape machine and air pillow dispenser. This was a seasonal temporary job.

Worked with head of housekeeping updating schedules and making sure cabins and homes were clean and ready to rent. Worked in the laundry room washing and folding linens.

  • 1995 to 2010 - Co-owner, Bookkeeper, Web Designer, and Media Publisher.   • Before 1995 I worked as a union carpenter, construction laborer, plumber’s assistant, forklift driver, warehouse stocker, grounds maintenance, fish cleaner, derby organizer, cashier, housekeeper, waitress, restaurant hostess, and a costumed character at the Wooz (Wild Original Object Zoom,) an entertainment park and maze in Vacaville, California.

Acknowledgements

I have written and published two books, “The Gringa Files,” a light-hearted book describing a road trip through Mexico and the cultural differences between Mexico and the United States. Also, a children’s photo book, “Blue Ball,” written and published using InDesign in both English and Spanish.
